The 2012 vintage has brought some big wines to the table. It was a warm, dry growing season which means that the vines were literally feeling like they spent most of the year on a beach in San Diego with a tiny umbrella in their beverage of choice.
With some big structure and flavor on the horizon it took a bit of extra time for this vintage to smooooooth out but it was well worth the wait. If you have been waiting for a Merlot to sweep you off you can rest easy, the wait is over. This release definitely toes the line of the dark side of things in a very good way.
