The first ever MTGA Pinot has arrived. This inaugural release is a combination of two exceptional clones from the Black Knight Vineyard in Bennett Valley. Each clone was fermented and aged separately for 18 months prior to creating the final blend in March 2017.
Inspired by my late grandfather and his love of France (particularly Burgundy) this Pinot is meant to be a excellent combination of new and old world styles coming together. With one-third of the Pinot Noir in new French oak it definitely exhibits some toasty and caramel-y characteristics. It contains the classic bright red fruit characteristics that shine through to bring the wine together. As time goes on this Pinot Noir will continue to gain depth and complexity but will shine brightly at young age as well.
