The 2010 Merlot.
This inaugural vintage consists of two lots, the only difference between them being the harvest date. The first lot came into the winery on October 28th, the second lot on November 4th. With the completion of the primary fermentation the first lot would exhibit a vast structural component while the second would show more of a savory character. This trend continued throughout the aging process which lasted 21 months in French oak. The first lot quickly became the backbone while the second became the body. Both lots were combined to create a blend that would exhibit the best of both worlds, great structure and texture working alongside killer flavors.
It has officially been one month since the bottling date and as it ages in bottle I am counting down the days until the release announcement, which will be going out in the next couple weeks.
I am beyond excited and I look forward to sharing this first release!
